Gulf Wings investment pays off as it retains Wingman

May 4, 2026

As part of the Wingman commitment, operators share detailed SMS and emergency response plan information directly with Wyvern, demonstrating a proactive willingness to provide insight into their safety framework.

Gulf Wings has once again earned its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator, reaffirming its commitment to the highest standards of operational safety. Gulf Wings maintains its Wingman status through active participation in the Flight Leader Program, supported by ongoing quarterly coaching from Wyvern.

This renewal comes at a time of continued operational growth and expanded activity across multiple regions, reflecting the UAE executive jet operator and aircraft management company's disciplined approach to safety, compliance and service delivery.

“Maintaining Wyvern Wingman certification is a reflection of how we operate every day, not a one-time achievement,” says Khaldoun Ghalayini, managing director. “In today's operating environment, safety requires constant investment, oversight and accountability. Our continued participation in the Wyvern Flight Leader Program ensures that our systems, people and processes remain aligned with the highest global standards, while providing our clients with the confidence, transparency and reliability they expect. We see clear commercial value in maintaining independent safety accreditation. In our experience, a growing number of multinational and Fortune 500 clients place strong emphasis on third-party safety verification when selecting operators, particularly in this region. In many cases, working with Wyvern-certified operators is an important consideration. Our continued investment in the Wingman programme not only strengthens our internal standards but also supports our ability to meet the expectations of the most discerning and safety-focused clients.”

The globally recognised Wyvern Wingman standard provides a safety benchmark that allows customers to assess an operator's safety performance against the industry's highest standard when selecting charter services. The scope of the evaluation includes a review and assessment of the organisation's compliance management system, internal evaluation programme, safety management system, human factors management, safety culture analysis, risk management policies, procedures and practices, emergency response plans and training programmes. Through the Wyvern Flight Leader Program, participating operators also receive complimentary access to Wyvern's integrated SMS software, which includes capabilities such as ASAP reporting, FOQA integration, CASS tracking, FRAT, FRMS and other data-driven tools designed to strengthen proactive risk identification and operational oversight.

As part of the Wingman commitment, operators share detailed safety management system and emergency response plan information directly with Wyvern, demonstrating a proactive willingness to provide insight into their safety framework, risk controls and response capabilities. By voluntarily opening their programmes to independent review, Wingman operators affirm their dedication to accountability and continuous improvement. Additionally, Wingman members, including Gulf Wings FZE, are eligible for a complimentary annual safety culture analysis, a comprehensive SMS evaluation and participation in Wyvern's world-class Safety Leader Training Course, further reinforcing their commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence.

“Gulf Wings FZE's renewal of Wyvern Wingman certification through the Flight Leader Program highlights its steadfast dedication to safety and operational excellence,” concludes Andrew Day, chief operating officer at Wyvern. “Its ongoing professionalism and discipline reflect the standards that define leading operators in the aviation industry.”
