RAS takes on support for Piaggio's European fleet

April 27, 2026

This partnership reflects Piaggio Aerospace's commitment to delivering reliable support for the P.180 fleet, alongside a renewed emphasis on customer care as part of its Avanti Next vision.

RAS already serves a quarter of the Piaggio fleet.

Piaggio Aerospace has taken a further step to enhance maintenance and customer support for P.180 Avanti aircraft in Europe with the appointment of Rheinland Air Service (RAS) as an authorised Piaggio service centre.

RAS was an authorised Piaggio service centre starting in 2014 and, over the past two years alone, has worked on more than 40 P.180s, delivering world-class service to around 25 per cent of the Avanti fleet currently in global operation. Its extensive experience and continued dedication ensure the highest standards of support for the P.180 and its operators.

This partnership reflects Piaggio Aerospace's commitment to delivering reliable support for the P.180 fleet, alongside a renewed emphasis on customer care as part of its Avanti Next vision. RAS, with decades of experience, will contribute its technical expertise and operational knowledge to help ensure consistent, dependable service for P.180 operators.

“Partnering with Rheinland Air Service is a further step in our mission to enhance customer experience,” states Giovanni Tomassini, CEO of Piaggio Aerospace. “We are pleased to formalise this collaboration and build on the trust and expertise developed over many years.”

Earlier this year, Piaggio Aerospace announced the launch of the Avanti Next, marking the start of the company's ‘Next Era’ with a focus on customer care and experience. Avanti Next brings the Avanti NX into the P.180 series as a working forum to explore new concepts, along with targeted upgrades to improve performance and efficiency for earlier P.180 models.

Piaggio Aerospace will continue to strengthen its global support network as part of its ongoing commitment to the Avanti fleet, ensuring operators benefit from enhanced service availability and customer-focused support across Europe, North America and beyond.
