RoyalJet, an Abu Dhabi-based global private jet operator, has selected CFM LEAP-1A engines as the power source for its new fleet of ACJ320neo aircraft currently on order with Airbus.
The CFM LEAP-1A engine is manufactured by CFM International, a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
CFM LEAP engines have experienced the fastest ramp in commercial aviation history, with 4,000 aircraft in just nine years. Advanced technologies like composite fan blades and ceramic matrix composites deliver an engine that's 15 percent more fuel efficient, with 15 percent lower carbon emissions than prior-generation CFM56 engines. Currently operating a fleet of 10 Boeing Business Jets and five Bombardier Global aircraft, RoyalJet placed its order for three ACJ320neo aircraft in February of this year.
