Thirty M2s by 2030 is the aim for ambitious GlobeAir

October 4, 2025

Today, GlobeAir operates 19 Citation Mustangs, the core of its operations since the company’s founding. They are still flying strongly. Later this year, it will welcome the first Citation M2 Gen2 jets into service.

GlobeAir is based in Linz but flies all over Europe and beyond.

Citation Mustang fleet operator GlobeAir completed close to 1,000 flights in July 2025, and is reporting a strong year overall. In July it connected 212 destinations and welcomed 1,350 passengers. “We are seeing a balanced mix of business and leisure travel, with corporate journeys remaining essential and growing demand for shorter European escapes, regional airports and coastal retreats, as travellers look to cut transit time,” states CEO Bernhard Fragner. “At the same time, we are progressing with our fleet renewal from the Citation Mustang to the Citation M2, a transition that will further enhance comfort, performance and reliability.”

Today, GlobeAir operates 19 Citation Mustangs, the core of its operations since the company’s founding. They are still flying strongly. Beginning later this year, it will welcome the first Citation M2 Gen2 jets into service. “Our fractional ownership programme is already available on the M2 platform,” says Fragner. “This marks the start of a new chapter, with the Mustang gradually making way for the M2.

“The Mustang has been our trusted jet, perfectly suited to Western and Central Europe. It is reliable, cost-efficient and able to reach airfields that larger jets cannot. Yet the M2 is the future. With greater range, advanced avionics, enhanced passenger comfort and fewer supply chain constraints, it will set the new performance benchmark for our fleet.

“Effectiveness comes from access and reliability. The Citation Mustang’s size and performance let us use smaller regional airports, reducing total travel time. Operating a single-type fleet simplifies training, maintenance and dispatch, driving high availability. We also deliver rapid turnarounds: clients can be airborne in about 15 minutes from arrival. Safety remains uncompromising, supported by our Part 145 maintenance centre in Linz and our Austrian AOC oversight.”

The company flies high-frequency business routes such as Geneva-Paris and hubs like Nice Cote d’Azur, alongside seasonal leisure missions to Saint-Tropez, Ibiza, Palma or Olbia. Many of these involve smaller, exclusive airfields that are beyond the reach of larger aircraft.

The M2 Gen2 is GlobeAir’s growth platform and the basis of ‘30 by 30’, its fractional ownership programme. Owners take a three- or five-year share in a new M2 with guaranteed availability, fixed monthly management fees, no blackout dates and no positioning charges. GlobeAir’s in-house maintenance facility, Austrian AOC oversight and a single-type M2 fleet give tight control of reliability, availability and costs. The M2 adds range, comfort and short-field performance for regional access. The plan targets a dedicated fleet of 30 M2s by 2030.

Fragner concludes: “In the months ahead and into 2026, we will bring the first M2s into service, retire older Mustangs and manage a period of dual-fleet operations, all with customer satisfaction as the benchmark. That means efficient service, a clear offer and solutions for every travel need, while we broaden fractional ownership under ‘30 by 30’ so it is more accessible and structured. In parallel, the new Linz hangar will lift maintenance capacity and operational efficiency, and we will strengthen our technology and service delivery with greater pricing transparency, improved booking tools and selective exploration of per-seat and empty-leg options.”
