ParaFlight integrates clinical nurses into global charter service

June 9, 2025

The company’s partnership with Air Nurses has brought credentialed in-flight care to clients recovering from surgery or requiring ongoing medical oversight.

Air Nurses was founded by Ericka Essington, a CFRN-certified nurse with more than 15 years of experience.

ParaFlight has launched a new concierge medical service for private aviation, enabled through its partnership with Air Nurses. The service brings board-certified flight registered nurses on board charter flights to support travellers who are stable but need medical attention.

“This is a transformative step for ParaFlight and our clients,” says CEO Sim Shain. “We've built a reputation on urgency, precision and trust. Now, with Air Nurses, we can extend that same standard of care into the cabin, elevating every mission with a layer of medical oversight that's seamless, professional and quietly present.”

Founded by critical care transport executive and CFRN-certified nurse Ericka Essington, Air Nurses offers door-to-destination care. Its team is trained to operate in private flight environments and provides a level of support between that of medical escorts and emergency air ambulances.

“This partnership reflects everything Air Nurses was built for,” says CEO Ericka Essington. “To provide calm, credentialed care that travels with the client, not just from the runway, but bedside to arrival. ParaFlight understands the level of discretion and clinical integrity required to do this well, and we're proud to bring this elevated offering to its passengers.”

ParaFlight clients and brokers can now coordinate nurse-accompanied flights for post-surgical recovery, chronic conditions, or elderly travel. Nurses administer medication, assist with mobility and monitor patients in-flight without adding complexity for crew or charter teams.
