Two former White House Travel Office directors now lead Washington's premier private aviation firm

March 19, 2026:

Advanced Aviation Team (AAT), a Washington, D.C.-based private aviation firm specialising in charter brokerage and complex, security-sensitive travel logistics, today announced that Peter Newell has joined the company as president. With Newell joining founder and CEO Gregg Brunson-Pitts, who served as director of the White House Travel Office under President George W. Bush, AAT is now led by two former presidential travel directors.

Newell brings more than two decades of experience at the intersection of high-stakes travel, political operations and executive strategy. He most recently spent nearly nine years in senior leadership roles at KPMG, advising clients on complex transactions and growth strategies. Earlier in his career, he served as director of the White House Travel Office under President Obama and as chief of staff to the campaign manager for the Obama-Biden 2012 re-election campaign, managing mission-critical logistics under some of the most demanding conditions in American public life.

“Peter's background aligns perfectly with where AAT is headed,” said Brunson-Pitts. “He understands the operational precision required when travel is high-visibility, time-sensitive or security-intensive. His leadership strengthens our ability to serve clients operating at the highest levels.”

The appointment marks a strategic growth phase for AAT as demand continues to increase for discreet, expertly managed aviation services in political and executive sectors.

“Mission-critical travel demands precision and discipline,” said Newell. “AAT has built a reputation for discretion, execution and results. I look forward to helping scale the firm and serving clients who require trust and absolute reliability.”

Newell's appointment takes effect immediately.
