Magnus Aviation releases ski data
Bedfordshire, UK-based Magnus Aviation reports that up to early December 2016 it saw a 46 per cent year on year increase in bookings from UK clients chartering jets to airports with transfers to some of Europe's most expensive and popular ski resorts such as Verbier and St Moritz.
Despite the fall in Sterling, the company believes the increase in demand is partly due to the growing number of HNWI in the UK. Figures show that the number of people with assets of £10 million or more stands at around 27,000. Airports at Innsbruck, Lyon Saint-Exupéry and Annecy Haute Savoie Mont Blanc showed the largest increase in business aircraft flights during the 2015/16 ski season over the previous year.
James Armstrong, head of commercial development, comments: “The ski season in Europe is one of the busiest times of the year for us. Around 21 per cent of all business aircraft chartered through us is linked to this.”
