Ubair launches private jet booking app

From its base in Norwell, Massachusetts, Ubair has launched an app providing instant, bookable, one-way quotes for private air travel which eliminates membership fees and deposits.

Ubair's executive director David Tait says: “For all the focus on apps in the last few years, we found it frustrating that booking a private jet by app still always entailed membership, or a phone call to slog through logistics. Everything else is instant now – why can't booking a jet be the same? We've been developing it for about a year and testing over many months.

“This is aimed squarely at people who have flown private before and at corporate travellers. We expect small and medium-sized companies to find it useful in evaluating the viability of sending three or four executives privately. We might also tempt some high end leisure traffic by virtue of allowing them to instantly evaluate the cost and time efficiency of moving the family for that ski weekend by private jet rather than commercial airline.” 

The Ubair app has no up-front fees or deposit requirements; users can access fixed, one-way rates and availabilities that the company says were previously only accessible through jet card and fractional programmes.

Tait adds: “Today's sophisti-cated flyer demands the utmost in cost benefits, flexibility, simplicity and safety standards, and Ubair delivers all of that in an instant; our goal is to drive exceptional utilisation for our aircraft owners.”

Users can search for flights in the USA, Canada and the Caribbean, and within seconds compare prices between six categories of aircraft, ranging from a baseline piston aircraft (UbairTaxi) to an intercontinental Gulfstream (UbairHeavy).

Amenities such as gourmet catering, wi-fi and the newest planes (UbairElite) can be chosen.
