Stratajet secures $5m investment and launches ground-breaking marketing campaign

Stratajet has secured a $5 million investment for the continued development and launch of its real-time business aviation booking platform that drives its online and offline brokerage offerings. The company has also announced that in April it will embark on an airborne marketing roadshow, with the aim of reaching out to a range of charter operators and FBOs to promote the benefits of its technology.

Stratajet was identified for investment following four years of development of a technology platform which has the ability to price not just the flight, but also all of the additional variables associated with a journey. Previously unidentified costs such as handling, landing and out of hours charges are also included, giving the ability to provide a quote instantly. The funds raised will be used by Stratajet to increase the supply of operator partners in Europe and the US and to support the roll-out of its consumer product. To drive this forward, Stratajet is launching Operation Longreach, which will involve the team travelling in their own aircraft to visit a number of European airfields and meet the operators who will instantly benefit from using their technology.

Following live testing of the system with a number of UK charter companies, Stratajet is offering operators a free to use software platform that enables them to make use of the benefits of Stratajet's pricing engine for all their internal quotes, provided they make their aircraft available to be sold on Stratajet.com. Stratajet will integrate seamlessly with the charter operators' existing scheduling systems.

Phil Brockwell, a director at one of Stratajet's partner operators Centreline Air Charter, says: “Stratajet appears to be the only platform backed by the technology to produce instant, bookable quotations. Using the data delivered by the Stratajet system presents us with an array of additional tools, which we think are very exciting.”

The opening up of the platform to a wider number of charter companies will signif-icantly increase the capacity of the system ahead of a full launch to business jet consumers later this year. Jonathan Nicol, md of Stratajet, comments: “Receiving this investment now proves that the last four years of striving to perfect the technology in Stratajet have been worth it. We have been given full recognition that Stratajet is not just another online solution; rather that we are unique in providing the ability to instantly and accurately price trips from an unlimited number of aircraft operators.”

Nicol adds: “We are excited to show more charter partners and FBOs what we have created when we begin Operation Longreach early next month.” The Stratajet team is planning its aerial roadshow now and invites all operators and FBOs to be part of this industry event.
