Private jet marketplace Takeoff360 announces 2.0 version; makes empty leg deals accessible to more consumers

October 11, 2018:

Takeoff360, the mobile app that connects consumers with private jet charters around the globe in just a few taps, has been significantly updated in a move designed to make private jet charters more accessible to a broader clientele. Founder and CEO Robert Basha explains: "One out of three private jets do not have any passengers on board. The industry term is referred to as an empty leg or repositioning flight. Not only is this a big waste of fuel and money but the carbon footprint to our environment is beyond staggering. Making these one-way legs available to consumers at lower prices helps address a major inefficiency in the air charter industry and is a win-win for all."

Takeoff360 curates thousands of available empty legs or "one way deals" and displays several hundred of them targeted towards popular routes worldwide. "Although there are many hundreds more, we don't want to overwhelm users," says Basha. "We are focusing on some of the more popular routes and others will follow shortly."

While empty leg deals themselves are not new to the industry, Takeoff360 aims to make them more accessible to a broader swath of consumers. The price tag of an empty leg deal may be discounted by up to 60% of a regular flight. In addition, the entire selection and booking process can be completed in just a few taps on Takeoff360's mobile app, including payment via credit card or Apple Pay. The app provides photos of the jet, lists amenities, provides the aircraft's safety certifications, insurance coverages and more, so consumers can make choices based on their preferences. Mobile features, like push notification, alerts users when deals become available on their favourite routes. The company is already seeing major interest, having successfully transacted one-way flights both in the USA and abroad.

The company works closely with leading charter technology provider Avinode to ensure it gets access to a broad spectrum of available deals from top operators around the world. "Avinode has been a great partner for us," says Basha. "That's why we thought it was high time to co-host with them at this year's NBAA conference, especially now that we have taken the technology to another level."

Saskia de Jong, director of sales Americas at Avinode Group, says her company is excited for Takeoff360 to demonstrate to the industry how far the technology has come in making it easy for consumers to find and book private jets. "Takeoff360 is an ideal showcase to illustrate how creative companies in this space can partner with us to make a great experience for the end-user while creating massive improvements in efficiency for the industry as a whole."

Basha says: "There's never been a more exciting time for private jet travel. Our continued focus is to provide consumers with easy access to jet charters and one-way deals through a simple and clean digital interface that is in essence their shopfront to the global jet charter industry. Our version 2.0 is a big step towards this goal, having successfully completed bookings in over 30 countries so far."
