Delta Private Jets to be official private jet carrier of Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and presenting sponsor of show's Windward VIP Club

September 25, 2018:

Organizers of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) have announced a new two-year agreement with Delta Private Jets, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, to be the official private jet carrier and presenting sponsor of the show's Windward VIP Club.

The largest in-water boat show in the world, FLIBS attracts approximately 110,000 global boating enthusiasts and 1,200 exhibitors from 52 countries to a five-day extravaganza of the most extraordinary yachts, and the largest display of watercrafts, sought-after marine accessories, special events and premier brands every November in Fort Lauderdale.

“Private aviation and yachting go hand-in-hand, delivering the utmost level of service and luxury travel accommodations. As the official private jet carrier of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the Delta Private Jets brand will complement the spirit of yachting by inviting guests to learn about the luxuries of private aviation,” said Kelly Love, VP of corporate strategy and business development at Delta Private Jets.

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida estimates that more than 1,000 private planes land at regional FBOs (fixed base operators) during the show each year.

Delta Private Jets recently opened a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Sheltair Aviation in the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, featuring a 15,000-square-foot hangar and 2,200 square-feet of office space. The facility supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as well as servicing of private aircraft elsewhere in south Florida by a team of trained resident technicians.

“Similar to the yachting industry, private aviation is known for its extraordinary luxury and personalized service, with the two industries often intersecting due to their shared clientele,” said show producer Andrew Doole, vice president and general manager of Informa U.S. Boat Shows. “With its reputation for excellence built over the past 30 years, we are more than pleased to welcome Delta Private Jets as the official private jet carrier and presenting sponsor of our Windward VIP Club.”

The Windward VIP Club is presented by Delta Private Jets and is located at the Hall of Fame Marina. In partnership with Ulysse Nardin, the Swiss luxury watch manufacture, this exclusive lounge offers the amenity of a premium open bar and gourmet food offerings from morning through the evening. The climate-controlled environment will provide custom experiences including wine tastings by Wine Enthusiast and intimate events by Delta Private Jets and Ulysse Nardin. The Windward VIP Club is adjacent to the show's legendary super yachts and an impressive display of exotic automobiles.

The Windward VIP Club also includes a dedicated concierge team to arrange yacht tours, local dining reservations, private transportation, and accommodations for private aviation on Delta Private Jets.

Open during show hours from Wednesday, October 31 through Sunday, November 4, Windward VIP Club passes are $300 per day per person and include entrance to the show and water taxi service. Passes are available for purchase through the show's online ticketing system at FLIBS.com. Valet parking is available at the show's Las Olas Marina location, 201 South Birch Road, for $70 per day, and can also be purchased in advance online.
