flYellow takes off

Following 12 months of planning newly-established German operator flYellow is to commence commercial flights throughout Europe with a Grand Caravan from its base at Vilshofen airport. Founder and MD Harald Eichberger says: "Nothing is as important as thinking everything through down to the very last detail."

The idea came about because his other business, Lower Bavarian coach company Eicherberger Reisen, transports passengers from many of the river cruise ships that call all year round at the nearby German city of Passau, situated on the Danube, to their day trip destin- ations. It became apparent that larger and faster travel was needed to cope with rising demand. He set up flYellow to provide aircraft services for cruise customers as well as for corporate flights.
