Fly Karoo Air begins services at Graaff-Reinet

Fly Karoo's helicopter charter service has opened in Graaff Reinet, South Africa, and will focus mainly on scenic flights over popular sites such as Port Elizabeth and game lodges. The company is using a factory new R66, the 12,000th helicopter to roll off Robinson Helicopter's production line.

The CAA has issued Fly Karoo with an official operating licence via UFly Charter and Aerial Work. Pilot Franscois Fitzgerald has over 2,500 hours flying exper-ience of which 2,000 hours were earned on Robinson helicopters.

Co-owner Marco van Jaarsveld says that the heli- copter service will complement the town's already thriving tourism industry. Trips to the airport in Port Elizabeth take approximately one hour ten minutes, with the added benefits of the view and an adrenaline rush.
