Bryan Ba’s years of experience in sales and aviation and his understanding of the China market will prove valuable

Asian Sky Group developments include arrival of Ba

Asian Sky Group (ASG), head-quartered in Hong Kong, has appointed Bryan Ba as senior sales director for China. Managing director Jeffrey Lowe says: “I'm delighted to welcome Bryan to the ASG team. The business aviation industry in greater China is still experiencing a lot of growth in a number of areas, so we were looking to add someone who understands this critical market and could contribute right away. With 25 years of experience in sales and aviation in China, Bryan achieves that and brings a great wealth of experience to ASG.”

Ba rose from salesman to vice president at the Tianjin Economic Development Zone where he was responsible for product research, marketing development, and after-sales service. He went on to set up his own media company, a tour agency, and the first art museum in Tianjin, and in 2008 began work as a sales agent for Bombardier distributor Liftec. He recently obtained his private pilot licence.

Aviation award nominations received

ASG has been nominated for four Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) Icons of Aviation awards, among them best charter brokerage. The winner of each category will be announced at a charity gala dinner on 6 November in Hong Kong.

“Asian Sky Group is proud to be nominated. It is a testament to the services we provide, proving that ASG is not just your average broker,” says Lowe. “We've worked hard to offer services in all aspects of the industry and these nominations are a reflection of that.”

Inaugural Asia-Pacific charter report launched

The company has also released its first in-depth look at the Asia-Pacific charter industry. The report focuses on the business jet charter market, the issues and challenges it faces, operational requirements and the regulatory environment. It provides analysis, insight and information for either chartering in the region or for evaluating the available business opportunities or challenges.

ASG finds that the 264 charter business jets in the region represent 23 per cent of the total regional fleet, of which only around half are dedicated exclusively to charter. The largest charter fleet (60) is based in India, followed by China (57) and Australia (55).

ASG participates in Jakarta IBCAS panels

Drawing heavily from the report above, ASG's commercial director Patrick Bouvry recently discussed the future for business and charter aviation in Indonesia and the current state of the bizav market in the Asia-Pacific region at the Indonesian Business and Charter Aviation summit held in Jakarta. “ASG's involvement at IBCAS is part of our dedication to the Asia-Pacific business aviation industry,” says Bouvry. “We are happy to have shared our industry insight at a time when business aviation is increasingly being recognised as supporting the growth of regional economies.”
