Alam pioneers change in the Canadian private aviation industry

Eclipse Air Charter, a Toronto, Canada-based brokerage, has recently been launched under the leadership of founder and managing partner Yasmin Alam. “Despite Canada being a major business and economic hub, Canadian clients have access to a limited selection of charter aircraft compared to their counterparts in the US or Europe,” says Alam.

She goes on to explain: “In Canada there are approximately 1,900 business aviation aircraft, many of which are underutilised. Working with a network of aircraft owners and operators locally and internationally, we can offer a more extensive range of aircraft options than ever before. We have a simple pay-as-you-go service with no long-term commitment, initial outlay, membership fee or manage- ment charges. Clients have access to aircraft worldwide and are able to utilise local, transient and empty leg aircraft on a flight-by-flight basis.”

Coming next is the launch of a mobile app, which will offer trips from Toronto to New York, Montreal, Boston, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, among others. Alam concludes: “Technology is playing an important role in the aircraft charter market, and companies that are unable to adapt will not survive the next generation of private jet customers.”
